As celebrations take place on 23 June for the Grand Duchy's anniversary, we'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy National Day!

While this weekend’s festivities and fireworks reflect cohesion and a proud sense of belonging, they should also encourage us to think about what Luxembourg’s brand and influence will be in the future.

 

At the ‘Celebrating Luxembourg’ gala evening organised at the end of 2017 by Maison Moderne, Philippe Depoorter, a Banque de Luxembourg Management Committee member, stressed the importance of passing on Luxembourg’s unique skills and values to future generations. If a country is to give more meaning to its achievements and strengthen its brand in the future, it must pass on what it has created.

 

This legacy – the real cornerstone of a brand – is a value creator, and Luxembourg will only have a lasting influence if its heritage is promoted by future generations, not just within the country itself but also internationally. Charity work and humanitarian commitment, for example, are important ways to expand the Grand Duchy’s international reputation and enhance the Luxembourg brand. So what will the Grand Duchy be like in the future? Children and young people present their vision:
