Banque de Luxembourg has always supported cultural institutions in its home country. We are indebted to the community that has welcomed us and given us the opportunity to grow, and we show our gratitude through a strong focus on corporate responsibility and commitment to cultural development.

The Luxembourgish tradition of excellence in private banking is extended to our branches in Belgium, where we advise individuals, families and entrepreneurs on protecting, managing and passing on their wealth. We also assist them in their philanthropic and cultural projects.

As part of our tradition of corporate sponsorship, we support our friends and neighbours, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens. As a museum, this private foundation gives the public access to important modern and contemporary private collections with a social relevance. As a contemporary art centre, it aims to play an active role in the international art world.

Situated near the pretty village of Deurle on the banks of the Lys, the museum enlisted the help of artist Hans Op de Beeck and architect Mo Vandenberghe from Studio Moto to redesign the nearby Wunderkammer Residence for artists. This ‘cabinet of curiosities’ was inaugurated on 5 June 2017 in the presence of Sven Gatz, the Flemish Minister for Media, Culture, Youth and Brussels. It houses the library of Jan Hoet, a unique collection of art books from one of the protagonists of the 20th century art scene, procured by the museum in 2015. The museum is also planning a major residency programme for artists, researchers and authors, offering a perfect environment for reflection, study and discussion on projects and ideas that may ultimately enrich our lives and world views.

With its local roots, human scale and image as a House of excellence, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens is a partner that reflects the Bank’s values.
